Turkey has become a much more complicated that originally written. We worked on developing him during the past week, and this is the current progress:

Turkey isn't his real name, as no one would really name their child that [though you can't be too sure]. He's named that because it was the last meal he had with his family. Thanksgiving - the common turkey dinner that drove someone into a lovely slumber during the cold night in late November. Family, you may think, since he's separated from them, were cruel. However, it's the opposite. Turkey's family was very loving and caring, and always treated him right.

This doesn't mean there wasn't anything mentally wrong in his head. Sure, a lot of teenagers now a days have depression or claim to have a mental illness of the sort and not be diagnosed, but they may be joking. Others just can't access medial facilities, and therefore never be properly diagnosed by a doctor or treated for what they have. A big one now a days is depression, which isn't a mental illness, but more so a neurological disorder.

A lot of teenagers with depression tend to focus on the past, thinking of all the bad things that have happen in their life up to this point and never consider that the future will be better for them, thus, sadly, some of them resort to attempting or committing suicide. Others just run away from family issues that may bring it about, or try to exclude themselves from whatever the source of their depression lies.

Turkey falls into that category of teenagers, who sadly, try to end themselves and close their book. He decided that after Thanksgiving, already ill with a horrid sickness, that he was going to leave home in the cold, and go to a train station. His intention was to kill himself by jumping into the tracks as the next train arrived at the station. However, due to it being so late and his medication causing him to become drowsy  he fell asleep there.

This is where Chazz comes in. He's a fairly caring guy, and so seeing that Turkey was clearly homeless at this point since his family had no trace of him, he took him in and onto the train back to his "hide out"/home. Turkey woke there, confused and having a lot of questions - all of which Chazz answered to the best of his ability. Turkey, unlike the common teenager, wasn't scared but in fact interested in the guy, and just tried to fit into the new home. He felt comfortable, and although his mind still boggled with a lot of suicidal thoughts, Chazz constantly cheered him up with kind words and care. In a sense, he became a second father.

Due to adjusting to the new area/home he was adopted into, Turkey ended up stumbling upon some odd mask that actually looked like a bird creature. After touching it, it made a new home as well - Turkey's body. The mask then became personified, and took control of Turkey's body. At this point, he was an ill puppet. Chazz noticed this, but had no control over the situation, and only tried to help Turkey through it.

Still conscience, Turkey lives through that type of thing. The mask talks for him, controls his body majority of the time, but keeps him quiet and mute. Turkey now doesn't talk himself, but instead this small little disease in the mask does. It does not just drain Turkey of his life, but also maintains him to a level of which is "inhabitable" for himself.

Near the end of Turkey's story, he ends up drowning out the mask, and being able to rip it off, becomes finally proud of something he's done. Though, he does pass out. He ends up in a hospital, in a coma, and Chazz - feeling a lot of empathy for the kid - reconnects him and his family. They come to visit in the hospital and hug and hold his body as much as the doctors and nurses allowed, staying by his side until he wakes.

When he does, the hospital gives him food to restore his energy and he finally starts feeling better - mentally. However, his internal and physical health has been deteriorating ever since the mask came off. It was his source of living for a while, and due to the sudden drop of not having it, causes him to fall into the coma in the first place. At this point, he just slowly dies. The last meal he has is a Thanksgiving dinner - his family in the room still, watching over and helping him, but afterward, he dies.

Originally, we had Turkey just in a gas mask and you'd never see his face. He'd be a slim and slightly muscled pale kid with some sort of illness of the sort, though he'd keep to himself with the gas mask on in order to keep from spreading the possible contagious disease.

Then we decided since his illness is a big part of his character, why not make him moreso show that he's abnormal - that he's sick. A lot of illnesses - including flu - give you a horrid temper, but you also feel like you're freezing although your insides are over 100F. So, instead we updated him with a red cloth, both for a warning, and to show more of the Turkey theme of it being a gobbler. We also gave him a big furry coat he'd fit into all nice and snug.

Instead, we decided, no. And we redesigned him for the 5th time [I think]. All of this post is progress over days of being really figity with what we wanted for Turkey. It may change more as well, but this one seems more solid. Doodles below. Text/explanation in the above post.

Chazz/Irony/Turkey's story was worked on:

Chazz is this pretty big and muscular villain type of guy, though he's really like soft hearted and nice and all. He hates publicity so he basically hides in some hide out majority of the time and has his two "helpers" do things outside. They're basically like his sons/assistants, but either term really works.

Irony was affected by radiation and Chazz took him in and cleaned him up and taught him a lot of moves of his own. Irony eventually ended up becoming obsessed with what fire looked and felt like, and now currently uses it as a weapon, thus explaining the giant bronze hand he has [it shoots fire, clearly]. Turkey was perfectly healthy, but abandoned on the streets as a small child, and again Chazz took him in. He still looks perfectly human, but he covers his face with a gas mask almost 24/7 due to Irony having a third eye, Chazz being super muscular, and him being the average skinny kid, he felt he needed something for himself to be identified and remembered by.

Once they grew up more, Chazz had them go out on missions to either practice the art they fought in or to actually do something that Chazz wasn't comfortable doing due to it being in public. He hates attention and media boasting about everything, so he stays hidden. Irony and Turkey though don't really care much, and keep Chazz unknown.

We did a lot of story working, particularly on one scene. Pictures are there to help you not die from the blocks of text I put in...

The scene involves Chloe and Riley, him inviting her to a party - masquerade to be more specific. To cut out a lot of the text, regular masquerade party stuff goes on until Irony busts in and sets fire to all exists, Turkey following close behind. They make an announcement saying "Everyone can leave except the fox and the mouse. It's alright - they know who they are. Everyone else, follow me this way." Then they let all the other hostages leave through an open exit [they put out the fire for them] leaving the two behind. Turkey and Irony stand by once everyone is gone near the exits that have died down at this point, while Chazz comes in through a balcony.

At this point the two of them are basically like, "Oh shit," because Chazz is a pretty built guy just wearing a tank top and jeans while they're dressed up all nice and proper. They end up fighting in those clothes anyway, as if they have a choice. Chazz questions them why they were looking for nuclear explosives and radioactive plants. Riley, not actually being directly involved, stays quiet while Chloe says she was just in it for the money. Chazz, actually being pretty nice, understands and says, "Ah well that's pretty relate-able  Seems understandable. Sadly though, I still have to kill you both."

Then he goes at them, and any time he hits them he basically apologizes, and anytime they hit him, he praises them. So the entire time, he's being really gentle and soft [compared to his actual strength] to them, and they're trying to wear him down. Chloe uses long distance weaponry, and Riley does a mix of long distance and short distance. After a while they try trapping him after he's slowed down enough, and then Irony and Turkey get involved in the fight. It ends up being 1 vs 1 while Chazz watches them all, and Irony and Turkey switch, so all of them fight someone different until another vs trade off occurs and Turkey accidentally punches Irony in the face.

Riley and Chloe just stand together and watch them bicker by themselves until Chazz gets out of the trap and continues on, and the two go at him again until he's tired out enough and Irony and Turkey are knocked out and Chazz takes them and flees. The other two just stand there and watch them leave until they depart themselves, and realize they make a pretty good team, and some romance crap happens, meanwhile back where Chazz hides out he has Turkey and Irony rest after they mumble some random crap and bicker more [brotherly love, huh].

Some more concept images prior to creating the comic [two posts prior to this]. These were some things we wanted to emphasize was Chloe being pretty seductive and flexible/agile, and Riley being able to lay traps and get out situations easily even under pressure. They're more seen in the comic, where they're in action, but these were two parts that we tried making obvious.

Preliminary/concept pictures for Riley and Chloe's secondary outfits - they'll also get bookmarks, as the readers won't know it's them/they'll have different names.

We split working on this comic into two days as the first meeting of Riley and Chloe [which was edited in the story to seem more superhero like].
